On November 15, 2023, Commissioner Kaushal Raj Sharma and Nagar Commissioner Akshat Verma jointly inspected GAIL’s CNG infrastructure projects and preparations for the Dala Chhath festival at Varanasi’s Ravidas Ghat. Instructions were given for acceleration of ongoing works, proper sanitation arrangements, extra lighting, and barrier construction along with making temporary changing rooms for devotees.
In November 2021, the Delhi government launched a new excise policy with great force, due to which liquor became much cheaper in Delhi and retailers were allowed to give discounts, although the BJP alleged that there was rigging in the distribution of liquor licenses and selected dealers were benefited. By July 2022, the fire became so intense that the Lieutenant Governor asked for a report from the Chief Secretary. On the basis of the report, the LG approved the CBI investigation.
The Ram Mandir Trust in India has invited the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh to consecrate the newly constructed Ram Mandir on January 22. The temple was built after a prolonged dispute over the birthplace of Hindu deity, Ram. The Supreme Court’s verdict in favor of the temple culminated efforts spanning 492 years to establish a grand temple in Ayodhya.
